The Craftsmen and Craftswomen bringing our furniture to life have over 100 years of combined experience behind them, meaning we select the most skilled master upholsterers to create furniture for every one of our projects. As well as this, we like to collaborate with British manufacturers who celebrate our heritage, and one company we have a close partnership with does exactly this.
With a factory based in Nottingham, they have been producing British-made furniture since the 1950s and supply the top UK retailers. Their eye for elegance and focus on exclusivity drove our BoxNine7 designers to hop down to their factory and discover how the creative process unfolds...
The Sofa Making Journey Begins…
Step 1.
Every piece of furniture begins their life with a handmade, hardwood frame.
Step 2.
For extra rigidity, the frame is glued, screwed and dowelled.
Step 3.
For sofas and chairs, high grade coil spring are used for the base and back support, providing a longer lasting and more comfortable product.
Step 4.
The fabric is meticulously pattern matched, ensuring the most luxurious and detailed finish. it is then cut and sewn together before fitting over the frame.
Step 5.
If selected, to finish off, tassels, fringes, riche or cords are all hand sewn onto the product.
